CAMP HEALTH & REGISTRATION INFORMATION
In our continuous efforts to provide the best possible care to our campers and staff, Camp Kroc is partnering with CampDoc.com. Camp.Doc.com is an electronic health record system for camps, and will help us consolidate and integrate camper health information into a centralized and secure location.
The security, confidentiality and privacy of your camper’s personal health information will always be protected. Only Camp Kroc health staff will have access to camper health information, and the CampDoc.com site is secure, encrypted and password protected.
LUNCH & SNACKS
Campers and junior counselors should bring their own lunch Monday–Friday. Healthy snacks will be provided during the day.
CAMPER GROUPS
Campers are grouped by age and specific activities are targeted towards their age group. Requests for campers to be in specific groups may not be able to be accommodated.
PARENT INFO
Parents will receive a newsletter via email the week before each week registered. This will include all camp policies and procedures. This information is also available on our website or at the Kroc Center Welcome Desk. For specific questions feel free to contact Jakin Logsdon at (217) 222-5762 ext. 5667.
1. The Kroc Center Day Camp program strives to offer every child, regardless of ability, the opportunity to participate in recreational activities that are both fun & educational. Our counselors work to create a positive environment, free from discrimination or other factors that may prohibit campers from having an enjoyable experience at camp. Day Camp counselors are trained to utilize positive discipline techniques to promote growth & learning.
2. Counselors and campers work together to create a “group contract” and outline the consequences for misbehavior. We deal with issues pro-actively, by informing campers of expectations and creating an environment that fosters safety, openness and respect.
3. Bullying of any kind is not acceptable and will be addressed immediately.
4. Our behavior correction process is a three step system:
Step one: Verbal warning
Step two: Temporary suspension from activity and discussion with Youth Development Staff.
Step three: Parents will be notified. If campers do not follow the rules or repeatedly misbehave, we will contact parents and depending on the severity and frequency of the behavior, we may ask parents to remove the child from camp.
5. Campers are expected to follow our five guidelines for behavior:
-Respect the Kroc Center
-Respect yourself
-Respect others
-Respect Authority
-Have fun!
If you feel that your camper may struggle with any of the above guidelines, please fill out an inclusion application to make sure we can provide the best care possible.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Each day at Camp Kroc includes a morning game, ice-breakers, worship and camp songs and large or small group lessons. Campers are grouped for the week by age. Activities vary each day and follow the week’s theme to keep things fun and exciting.
WHAT TO WEAR
Campers are required to wear socks & closed-toe shoes every day. Campers should wear weather-appropriate clothes in which they can play and get dirty.
WHAT TO BRING
• Backpack/bag – Campers should bring their belongings in a backpack or bag. EVERYTHING should be labeled with the camper’s name.
• Water bottle
• Lunch – Campers and junior counselors should bring their own lunch Monday–Fridays. Healthy snacks will be provided during the day.
